What is an endodontist?

An endodontist is a dental specialist that deals exclusively with complex endodontic (root canal) problems every day.  Every endodontist is initially trained as a dentist which is traditionally a five-year program.  After working as a dentist for some years, a dentist can choose to complete an additional three years of full-time training to become an endodontist.  

Not only does an endodontist have additional training to provide the highest level of care, but they also deal with root canal problems all day, every day.  When it comes to performing root canal treatment to the highest possible standard and giving you the best chance to retain a problematic tooth, an endodontist provides the safest possible set of hands.
